Richard Mulcahy has announced his resignation as CEO ofAustralia's peak vegetable industry bodyAusveg, effective immediately.
After more than seven years in the role, Mulcahy's departure comes as a surprise to the industry, with the announcement made just one month out from the annual Ausveg conference, to be held this June at the Gold Coast.
The Ausveg board has appointed director Simon Bolles as interim-CEO.
“Ausveg’s number one priority has always been providing effective representation for Australia’s hard-working vegetable and potato growers,” said Ausveg chairman Geoff Moar, in a statement released 24 May.
“The board has every confidence that Ausveg will continue to provide exceptional representation and high quality service provision to the Australian vegetable industry under the guidance of Bolles and key senior staff.”
Ausveg represents around 9,000 vegetable growers around Australia.
