Global shipping line APL has launched its weekly Trans-Pacific service from Japan to the US West Coast.
The Japan Express (JPX) service will call into Kobe, Nagoya, Toyko and Sendai in Japan before heading to Los Angeles and Oakland in the US, kicking off on 5 April 2017.
Jesper Stenbak, APL senior vice president of Trans-Pacific Trade, said APL was excited about the new JPX service.
'With direct connectivity between Japan and the US, the JPX service will be synonymous with competitive transit time that is as fast as a ten-day transit from Sendai to Los Angeles,” he said. “Together with APL’s comprehensive portfolio of Trans-Pacific services that is set to be enhanced under the Ocean Alliance this April, APL is delighted to offer our shippers with more compelling shipping options.”
