Antwerp Port Authority has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dalian Port Authority in China.
In the MOU, both parties expressed their desire to extend their collaboration and to boost trade between the two ports. For this purpose they have undertaken to exchange know-how and experiences, in particular in the fields of port construction, port management, container handling, petrochemical products, dry bulk and distribution.
The port of Antwerp and the port of Dalian, located in Liaoning province, have been collaborating for some time, having signed a “Sister Ports” treaty in October 1999.
The New MOU was signed at Antwerp Town Hall by Marc Van Peel, Antwerp vice-mayor and port Alderman, and Wang Peng, vice-chairman of Dalian Port Authority.
