Aomori apples are being sold at 75 Aeon stores across Vietnam after a four-year ban on Japanese apple imports has been lifted.
The mark the occasion, Aeon Vietnam held a ceremony at its Aeon mall in Hanoi on 19 December, according to Vietnam Plus.
Aeon Vietnam managing director Nagahisa Oyama said the taste, appearance and food safety aspects of Japanese apples have made them popular among consumers in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand as well as other countries, and that he hopes Vietnamese consumers will think like-wise.
