Abundant Produce is set to become Australia’s only listed agricultural seed company earning from domestic seed sales and intellectual property royalties.
The New South Wales-based company has gained confirmation from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) that its shares will commence trading on Tuesday26 April.
The move comes after Abundant Produce successfully raised A$3.5m in an oversubscribed initial public offering at A$0.20 per share.
“The board believes that listing on the ASX will allow more Australian investors to share in the Company’s growth,” said Abundant Produce’s managing director Tony Crimmins. “On behalf of the board, I look forward to sharing this exciting step in the Company’s future with you.”
Based in Sydney and Cobbitty, New South Wales, Abundant Produce specialises in breeding hybrid greenhouse vegetables. Crimmins says the company seeks to work with global seed distributors to develop products that target gaps in the market for food crops that thrive in low-tech conditions.
