Jeff Higgins, technical manger at fresh fruit and salads specialist DAS International, has died at the age of 53.
Higgins, who passed away on 28 July after a short illness, leaves a wife, two stepchildren and three grandchildren.
He worked for DAS for 18 years since its inception in 1999, and before that worked in quality assurance at Safeway.
A company spokesman said: 'Jeff was very highly regarded and popular among suppliers and customers, and colleagues both in the UK and Spain. He will be greatly missed by all.'
Higgins was a keen reader who had also taught himself Spanish on the job. Before fresh produce he had also had roles in the building trade.
