Prepared potato supplier Farm Frites has launched several new products to its portfolio including skin-on chips that have been added to the compay’s ‘Finest’ range.
Available in 7mm and 10mm lengths, the new products are designed for foodservice menus that require premium chips. “We offer the Finest range because we appreciate the need for premiumisation of menus,” said Farm Frites market manager for the UK and Ireland, Nic Townsend. “Operator demand requires us to produce a chip that offers a superior taste and texture and our Finest range ticks all of these boxes.”
Farm Frites has also launched new Quick Oven Fries, which can be baked from frozen in the oven for four minutes, for foodservice firms that are unable to use deep-fryers.
“We were aware that many of our customers don’t have the facility to deep fry, such as airports, petrol stations, hospitals and schools, but wanted to include fries as part of their offering,” added Townsend.
The company has also recently unveiled its new added-value range – Cut Specialities – which includes different flavours, including garlic and herb and sweet curry, in formats such as wedges, crinkle-cut formats and roast potatoes.
“We know from research that there is a consumer trend towards a larger variety of spices and strong flavours,” said Townsend. “We focused our product development for this range to satisfy these bolder palettes but we didn’t want to ignore the fact that many of our customers like the freedom to put their own signature on potatoes.”
