Waitrose has launched a new range of misshapen seasonal vegetables, naming the range ‘A little less than perfect’.
The grade two vegetables will come in larger bags, and the range includes carrots, potatoes, onions and parsnips which have imperfections, such as being misshaped, with skin blemishes, splits or broken.
As the seasons change, so will the type of vegetables and fruit included. The range will initially be available at 40 UK stores.
The move follows on from similar launches by Asdaand Morrisons.
Waitrose, though, first introduced a range of weather-blemished apples more than nine years ago, and has since also sold pears, potatoes and green beans that have been damaged by inclement weather.
