Walmart India continues to expand its footprint, opening it 22ndB2B cash & carry store late last month.
Located in Ludhiana, it is the second of Walmart’s Best Price Modernstores to open in the city, and the sixth in the state of Punjab, a region the multinational retail giant is actively targeting.
“Punjab is a very important and priority growth region for us and we are further expanding our footprint in the State to support kiranas, small farmers and local suppliers here to help make them successful,” said Krish Iyer, president and CEO of Walmart India.
Fitting with the mantra of the Best Price Modernchain, the new Ludhiana store will cater to the needs of small businesses, including kiranas/resellers, hotels, restaurants and caterers.
A 24-hour door-step delivery service and convenient payment solutions will be offered to such businesses in Ludhiana and adjoining areas within a 100km radius. The new store is also simultaneously integrated with Walmart India’s B2B e-commerce platform.
“Our Best Price Store will help our kirana/reseller members and other business members to efficiently manage their inventory and lower their operational costs,” Iyer added.
